As the site of the most premier golf courses in West Virginia, The Greenbrier distinguishes itself by hosting the annual Greenbrier Classic. This year, the event is scheduled to run from July 2nd to July 8th. Encompassing the Independence Day holiday, the tournament is sure to entertain with seven days of golf and three concerts. The Greenbrier Classic also offers attendees the opportunity to glimpse fairway living along The Old White TPC, the site of some of the most luxurious homes for sale in West Virginia.

The Tournament

In 2011, The Greenbrier Classic was voted the PGA Tour’s Best-in-Class tournament. Three players, Scott Stallings, Bob Estes and Bill Haas, had to return to the 18th hole for an exhilarating tie-breaker as millions of fans watched the event. Scott Stallings won the tournament, which was his first victory on the PGA Tour. This year, Stallings is returning to defend his position, and he will be joined by some of the PGA’s most notable players, including Tom Watson, Kenny Perry, Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods.

The Concert Series

In addition to what is sure to be one of the most entertaining golf events of the year, attendees have the opportunity to experience The Greenbrier Classic Concert Series. The first concert in the series, which features Toby Keith and Lionel Richie, is planned for July 4th at 7:30 p.m. Rod Stewart is scheduled to perform on July 6th with The Fray at 8:00 p.m., and Bon Jovi is set to take the stage on July 7th at 8:00 p.m.

Exploring Life on the Fairway

While enjoying this year’s tournament, attendees can also catch a glimpse of The Greenbrier Sporting Club, the resort’s residential community, which features some of the most sought after homes and land for sale in West Virginia.

Continuing a vibrant tradition, this year’s tournament is sure to provide attendees with an excellent way to celebrate the 4th of July at America’s Resort. Once the tournament ends, those who call The Greenbrier home can continue to experience this idyllic environment throughout the year.
