How to Find Us

The Greenbrier Valley Airport (LWB) is located on US 219, three miles north of I-64, only 20 minutes away, and offers daily United Express jet service to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Washington Dulles (IAD). The airport offers daily and seasonal flights, complete FBO service, and easily accommodates private aircraft. Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport (ROA) is located only 1 hour and 20 minutes away and offers flights to many major cities on the east coast. The Greenbrier provides transportation to/from each of these airports. Stopping at the main entrance of the resort, Amtrak service is available to many cities throughout the east and midwest. Additionally, The Greenbrier Sporting Club is located only a half-day’s drive for one-third of the U.S. population, making it an easy family destination.

John Klemish was born in Westport, Connecticut and educated in Amherst, Massachusetts. Since 1983, he has been instrumental in the development of world-class, mixed use, residential, and hotel developments throughout the United States and Caribbean. John was part of the team that launched The Greenbrier Sporting Club in 2000 and now acts as Broker in Charge and Adviser to the President, as well as West Virginia Tourism Commissioner. John enjoys golfing and spending time with his two sons and six grandchildren when not selling.

Hayes Beard grew up in Atlanta and attended Lovett and the University of Georgia. Having majored in Forestry with an emphasis on Timber Management, his love for the outdoors led him from a career cruising the pine stands of Georgia to the homesites of some of the finest communities in the world. Hayes has over eighteen years of experience working in luxury resort communities, including Temenos Anguilla and Cap Juluca. For over fourteen years now, he has worked exclusively as a Buyer’s Rep for families purchasing homes and homesites at The Greenbrier, America’s Resort. In his spare time, you can usually find him with his two boys, enjoying one of many family friendly activities offered at the resort or The Greenbrier Sporting Club.

Born and raised in Beckley, Jim Staton is a southern West Virginia native and graduate of Marshall University. Jim has worked for The Greenbrier Sporting Club for over 12 years, and brings over 20 years of experience selling luxury properties in the U.S. and Caribbean, including Molasses Reef in Turks and Caicos and The Reserve at Lake Keowee in South Carolina. Jim enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, as well as traveling and sports when not selling.

Larry Klein

Larry has made his home in the Greenbrier Valley since 1995. Before joining The Sporting Club in 2001, he served in various roles at The Greenbrier, his last as Senior Assistant Manager. Prior to moving to West Virginia, Larry worked in many capacities at various hotels, resorts, and restaurants, including Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park and the Chicago Downtown Marriott. He holds a B.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Michigan State’s Eli Broad School of Business. In his spare time, Larry enjoys many outdoor activities and adventure traveling the globe. You may see him riding his bike, kayaking a river, or rock climbing at nearby Seneca Rocks or New River Gorge. He has also been known to pull an occasional trout or two out of Howard’s Creek, and spends time every fall sleeping in a tree stand while monster whitetail bucks casually walk by. He lives outside of Lewisburg with his wife, Eileen, and their sons, Ari and Linden.

Linda is a lifelong resident of White Sulphur Springs, WV. She began her professional career in banking, holding many positions; including that of Loan Officer, later as an Office Manager in real estate, and Legal Assistant to an attorney. In all, Linda has over 39 years of experience in the fields of finance and real estate, as well as being a licensed realtor. Having joined The GSC in 2001, she has been a part of the team almost since its inception, and has seen The Club and community develop from vision to completion. Linda works closely with the sales staff and oversees the legal aspects of the purchase and sale process, the submission and construction process for the Architectural Review Board (ARB), and is historian and caretaker of the development records. Linda enjoys working in her yard and traveling to new destinations.

Curt was born and raised on the New Hampshire seacoast. He earned his A.S. in Hospitality and Tourism Management at New Hampshire Technical Institute, continuing his education at Southern New Hampshire University, where he completed a B.A. in Graphic Design and Media Arts. Curt came to The Sporting Club in August 2017 to assist in golf operations and transitioned over to the real estate department in the fall of 2018. In his spare time, you will find him golfing, biking, and snowboarding. He resides in Lewisburg with his wife, Ashley, and their dog, Doug.

Michelle has lived all her life near Talcott, WV in Summers County and is where she currently resides with her husband, John. Now in her third year with The GSC, Michelle’s happy smile, detailed eye, and menagerie of butterfly decorations provides a cheery atmosphere for the sales team, whom she assists with data entry, reception, and daily sales office operations. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys playing piano, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Ben Gesner was born and raised in Greenbrier County, and attended West Virginia University. He has worked for The Sporting Club for over five years, but came to work for the real estate team in January 2017. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, floating the Greenbrier River, and cooking. As a listing specialist, Ben works closely with sellers, marketing, and our sales team to ensure the available property information is current, complete, and communicated to all parties timely.
